The Laboratory of Novel Magnetic Materials, which was set up in June 2013, studies magnetic effects and magnetic properties of various materials (thin films, microwires, nanowires, and nanoparticles). Despite its short history, the laboratory has conducted studies covering a variety of modern trends in magnetism as well as interdisciplinary spheres connected with energy saving, energy efficiency technologies and medicine. International and Russian scholars often come to Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University to discuss the latest developments in the study of magnetic materials and their properties. Results of joint research are world class and are regularly presented at prestigious international conferences on magnetism.
